First Garret Anderson hit a single. Then Matt Diaz laid down a sacrifice and Brad Lidge made two errors. First he bobbled the ball and then he threw the ball away and Anderson scored and Diaz got to third. Then Adam Laroche was intentionaly walked. Then Greg Norton walked. Braves swap first basemen with redsoxs

Today before the trade deadline Atlanta traded 1B Casey Kotchman for old Braves slugger Adam Laroache. I like this trade offensivley but defensivley Kotchamn hadn't made an error so i didn't like that trade. But Adam might play for ATL tommorow.

Lats night after garret anderson hit a solo homerun the Braves took a 3 to 2 lead going into the bottom of the ninth with the best closer in MLB. Rafel Soriano! Braves win and lead series 2 to 1

Last night the Braves went to Colorodo and won 4 to 3 spirts riding high as Ryan Church made his Brabes debut. He went 0 for 4 with and RBI and the RBI came with the bases loaded on a shot that Ian Stewart robbed at the wall or else Church would have been 1 for 4 with an double that would have scored two which would have given the Braves a 5 to 3 win instead of a 4 to 3 win. Today at 3 ATL takes on the Rockies in the seriees finale looking to win and take series 3 to 1 and to be a .5oo record wise at the all star break.

Braves Mets swap players

Tonight Atlanta made the move and sent Right Fielder Jeff Francouer to the Mets and Right Fielder Ryan Church to the Braves. This move was sudden and odd since it was a trade inside the division but at the same time it will be good aqquiring Church as he is having a great season batting .280. I could go either way on this trade as I will miss Frenchy and his fielding arm, agressive batting and being a hometown hero. But I look forward to seeing Church play as he will start tommorow at 7:30 for pregame.

Braves lose series opener

Last night ATL lost 7 to 6. The Braves are 5 games behind the phillies and will play the Rockies tonight as D Lowe is on the bump for tonight for Atlanta at 9:10.

ATL splits series with pirates

Coming into today Javier Vazquez threw a great game for the Braves and went 8 innings giving up 1 earned run stricking out 12 and not walking a soul. Although in the last inning Rafel Soriano for the Braves who hadn't given up a run to a team in his last 9 outings gave up two in the ninth inning. Then Atlanta was down 3 to 1 in the bottom of ninth inning First base umpire Brian Knight made a horrible call at first as Kelly Johnson had easily made it to the bag before Matt Capps the Pirates closer got there. Bobby Cox came out to argue than was thrown out. Finally Atlanta lost 3 to 1 and split the series with the Pirates. Now I am starting to think the Braves are going to need another hitter. I will though be sad to see some of the players leave.

News and notes from Atlanta

Today the Braves had to put backup first basemen Greg Norton on the DL. So From Triple A Gwinnett the Braves call up first basemen Barbaro Canizares. Also down in Gwinnett Center Fielder Jordan Schafer who was sent down to Gwinnett by the Braves hurt his wrist and will be out forat least two weeks.

Braves make moves

Yestereday Atlanta made some moves and some were great but the first move the Braves made wasn't fun to hear as Atlanta released veteran Tom Glavine. Though Atlanta called up top prospect Tommy Hanson who is supposed to start tommorow against the Brewers. Here is some more good news! The Braves auqquired center fielder Nate Mclouth from the Pirates. NateMclouth is an allstar centerfielder who won a gold glove last year. He makes his Braves debut tonight against the Brewers and is batting .256 with 34 RBI'S and 9 homeruns. Right now Atlanta looks to be a contender in the N.L East and is 6 games out of first place.
