Braves crush Phils, stand in 1st place
The Braves came into play today half a game out of first place playing the division leading Phillidephia Phillies. Chipper Jones hit a 2 run homerun to start off the game and after that it was all Braves as they lead 6 to 0 and later won 9 to 3. Troy Glaus who had a hot may belted a 3 run homerun to make the score 9 to 3. Tommy Hanson pitched 6 and 2 thirds and struck out 2 and gave up 1 run. Blanton got the loss for the Phills as the Braves have a half game first place lead and play the Phillies tommorow night at 7 on ESPN or Peachtree tv. In other news trying to break out of a slump Terry Pendleton watched film and saw that Mclouth's stance was a little wider than it used to be on the Pirates. This can be easily corrected as we hope to see a change and more succeuss on Mclouths offensive side.

Braves intrested in the D-Train?
The Detroit Tigers desingnated Dontrelle Willis for assingment yesterday. Willis is a lefty and the braves have all righty pitchers and need a lefty pitcher. The Braves could explore into claming Willis or they could go for someone else. If the Braves did get Willis it would be good except they would have to watch his salary cap.
Braves win again, Kawakami detained his first win due to bad call
The Braves came in with a broom ready to sweep the Pittsburgh Pirates. Troy Glaus started off the action with a sacrifice fly to give ATL a 1 to 0 lead. Thats really all Kawakami needed. Needing a win Kenshin showed off his stuff until the dreaded 7th. On a 1-2 count Kawakami struck out Garret Jones and the home plate umprie called him out. A second later the third base umpire came in saying Jones fouled it off. It was an awful call as clearley he had missed it. So Jones retried the at-bat and walked. Next Jeff Clement hit a 2 run homer to tie the game. After Kawakami came out we went to the 8th. Mclouth started off the action with a walk and stolen base as Brian Mccan followed with a walk. Next Prado struck out, but then Chipper Jones hit a bloop single that scored Mclouth. Then J-Hey hit a 2 run triple. A 5 to 2 score was more than Wagner needed. He struck out Dewlyn Young first, poppedf up Garret Jones, and then got Bobby Crosby to fly out. Wagner picked up his 7th save and Takashi Saito the great set up pitcher got his first win. Kawakami was frustrated with the bad call but happy with his performance and hopes to bid for his first win on Friday. Tommorow after a sweep of the pittsburgh pirates the Braves (27-22) will face a stuggling Phillies club as Tommy Hanson (4-3) gets the ball and will face Joe Blanton (1-3). Atlanta is half a game out of first and if they sweep the Phillies they will lead the NL East by 2.5 games!

Braves win again stay put though with Halladays perfect game
The Braves came in to play today at 26 and 22 ready to win again. In the first inning the J-Hey kid belted a 402 ft. homer. Then Andrew Mccuthen for the Pirates countered with a homerun just our of the reach of left fielder Melkey Cabrera. Then with runners on second and third the pitcher burresd for the pirates hit a triple of Kris Medlen. After a 3 to 1 deficit for the Braves they came back. Troy Glaus hit a two run double. Then later the Braves came home with a Martin Prado 2 run double. After a 10 minute rain delay Billy Wagner closed it out earning himself his 6th save. The Braves still stand second 1.5 games out of first place as Roy Halladay threw a perfect game against the Marlins in a 1 to 0 game and Josh Johnson should have gotten better defense as an unearned scored on an under ran ball by Cameron Maybin in center in the thrid and if he would have caught the ball this game would be in extra innings. Kris Medlen thought gets his second win for Atlanta and Burres picks up his thrid loss. Nate Mclouth did have a base hit and a stolen base but Yunel Escobar still went o for 3 as he looks to rebound tommorow. Kenshin Kawakami (0-7) will be on the hill for the Braves. He will face Paul Maholm (3-4). Although Kenshin's recored does not reflect how great he has been pitching. Right now he should be at least 3 and 4. Tommorow though I have a feeling will be a good day for him. First pitch is at 1:35. With and Atlanta win and Phillie lost Atlanta will find themselves half a game out of first place as they go for the sweep of the Puttsburgh Pirates tommorow.
Braves gaining confidence standing 2nd in the East
The Braves have been on a hotstreak latley winning there last 8 out of 9 games and going from last place to second place. Last night after an 1 hour rain delay the Braves at home against the Pirates won 7 to 3. David Ross who has been catching for Brain Mccan who hurt his quad is hittingt great and went 3 for 4 last night with a three run double and two singles with another RBI. Everybody even Derek Lowe had a hit for Atlanta had a hit last night except for shortstop Yunel Escobar and Center fielder Nate Mclouth. Thought they have been hitting well though so I wouldn't call it a slump and would assume they would break out of this tonight with hits. The Braves (26-22) will play the Pirates again tonight first pitch at 7:10 and Kris Medlen (1-1) will face Brian Burres of the Pirates (2-2). Tonight with a Phillies loss and Braves win the Braves will find their self half a game out of first place.

Braves get hotter after walk off slam!
The Braves have found their stoke as they streak down the line hoping to pass more and more teams. The Braves tied the series one to one against the Met's and then yesterday started a series with the Reds. Jason Heyward hit a walk off double. Today the Braves trailed 9 to 3 and in the 9th inning came back and were down by three and then BOOM... with the bases loaded Brooks Conrad hit a walk off grand slam! IT hit off outfielder lance nixs glove as Atlanta goes home with the win and is looking to streak past more teams in the National Leauge East.
